This sound of this overall sums up what I was feeling for most of the time I planned and recorded this whole thing. Then there's the last few seconds. Let me explain:
I was living on a privately run construction site in NYC when I thought of this, probably the last "idea that pops in your head right before falling asleep" I ever had before it was easier to just go to sleep. Anyway, the guy I was working for would from time to time bring some extra perks, like a case of beer and some chicken, which is a pretty awesome gesture when you're down & out in one of the most expensive places to be. I caught the other guy working there who wasn't homeless looking at the chicken one day, offered him a beer but thought to myself "the fuck...you ain't goin' nowhere with that chicken though".
That was something I also thought I heard DMX yell in a viral video in which he denies an autograph but offers to share a piece of chicken with the person instead. It doesn't seem to exist anymore or I'd link it here. I know, there's no justifying throwing what could be interpreted as a racist joke but nothing else seemed to get the complete mood changer I wanted such as "chicken". If someone else played it for me, I'd probably dismiss it and the rest of the album permanently thinking it was some kind of link between a rapper and a racial stereotype, even if I was quoting myself.
As racist as it may sound, it couldn't be as bad as the KFC ad that would come out a few years later in the UK
